Illamasqua Beguile Pure Pigment

I look like I've caught a whiff of something nasty. Nice.
Last week, I seen that Illamasqua was having a sale and I thought it would be a good time to try my first product from them.  When I seen what was actually on sale, there wasn't much that caught my eye except this Pure Pigment in the colour Beguile which is usually £15.50 but is £5.00 in the sale.

First thing I need to mention is the packaging.  It cost £3.50 for post and packaging which made me cringe a bit but to be fair it did come quickly and it was delivered in a beautiful box with all the shredding in it - kind of like a Glossy Box.  But seriously, look at the size of the box for such a tiny product, I do think it's a bit OTT.

The pigment itself if absolutely gorgeous.  Its a white pigment with really subtle pink and blue iridescent reflects in it.  It looks gorgeous when the light hits it, especially when it's moving about - it really shimmers.  I found it easy enough to apply and would definitely recommend using your finger instead of a bursh.  I would also say you definitely need to put it on top a base, it won't go on dry skin.  I just used an MUA eye primer and put the pigment on while still wet but I think next time I would use a base like NYX Milk Jumbo Pencil because it does take quite a bit of product to go completely opaque.
I had it on for about 12 hours (it was a long night!) and it lasted pretty well actually.  It was still on and I think if I had used a coloured base then it really would have looked quite good even 12 hours later.

Do I think this is worth the price?  If you are in love with this colour then the full price is probabl worth it.  It is a stunning colour, long lasting and something a bit different.  I wish I has bought 2 because I can see me running out of this one pretty quickly.  But if you are not that fussed about the colour then I think £15.50 might be a bit much for something you just kind of like.

The sale is still on and you can see that here if you fancy it.

Would you pay full price for this product?

  4. I bought my first Illamasque product recently but it was a concealer, however I also rate it really highly. Really looking forward to my next purchase - there might be a new favourite brand here!
