I am my hair.

This year, I want to talk about more than just makeup a bit more so I thought one thing I wanted to start  doing was hair posts. Especially because since I started this blog I have only did one hair related post.  But before I start doing them I thought I would just do a  quick post about what kind of hair I have and what I usually do with it and all that jazz.

I have really long hair.  It's not Guinness World Record holder long but it is long.  This is for a couple of reasons, the main one being that's just the way I like it.  I sometimes, very rarely, get the urge to get my hair cut shorter but it's always short lived and I know if I did, I would have bought extensions before I even got home from the hairdressers.

Lengthhh of ma hurr.

Length of it now and it's never shorter than this.
Which brings me on to the second kind of almost reason my hair is the way it is.  I have a fear of the hairdressers.  See the way some people have anxiety about going to the doctors or the dentists?  That's the way I feel about the hairdressers.  I would honestly rather have to go for root canal treatment than go for a haircut.  I DO get it cut but it is honestly about once a year and usually under duress.

When the red was washing out like 2 or 3 years ago

I've had really really subtle highlights when I was about 13 and after that I didn't do much.  I've had it dyed a really deep red and plum and deep blue but it's never really been properly bleached until a couple of months ago when I got blonde highlights in.  I really liked it but I just can't be bothered keeping it up as it means continuous trips to the demon's workplace.

What it looks like now.
So I think the next thing that I'll be trying is ombre or dip dye.  It might be "out" to some people but it's perfect for someone who doesn't really want a lot of upkeep or effort.  The only thing is that I'll need to try and dye over my current hair with a brown dye to get rid of the highlights and then ombre the bottoms - all by myself -eeeeek!

As for styling my hair, it's usually up in a messy bun - thank god for whoever made this hair do okay.  If it's done, my hair's normally straight since my hair is naturally straight and I've never found a way to make it hold a curl without looking like Shirley Temple so if anyone has any advice please leave it below!
So any hairstyles I do are dead easy and don't require a lot of skill so that's probably the types of posts I'll be doing.

This has turned out quite a bit longer than I thought haha 5 bonus points if you read all this!

  1. Ohhh I'm the exact same! I hate hairdressers! I ask for an inch off and they lob my locks into a bob. The times I've left with a dozey short fringe halfway up my forehead too! I do it all myself now at home!

My hairs long too, I prefer it that way as its easier to create different styles, although it gets knotty really quickly! :( Your hair is beautiful!

    1. Honestly, they are such a pain! I'm quite glad that it's not just me that's had a bad experience though haha! I wish I could cut mines myself!

Mines is so tuggy, it's a nightmare but it's worth it haha! Thanks you!

  3. I love your hair, wish mine was that long. I think it would be great ombred because you'd have enough length to do it really gradually x

  4. Omg! You hair is so long and beautiful!
I get what you mean about 'the demons workplace' haha, my hair was near the length up to my elbow until I decided to get it cut. Keep in mind I only wanted a trim (an inch off!)
But the woman decided to cut like 5 inches off and it was only past my shoulders!

I've been growing it out ever since!!
Do you have any tips for growing hair long?

    1. Aw thank you!
God, that's a nightmare, they just do not listen to what you ask for at all! You have lovely hair though!

I don't really, I've never done anything except time. I've heard there's a Lee Stafford product that's good for growth but I've never used it!

  5. I too share a fear of hairdressers. The second my guy left I haven't been back since. I only went because he did EXACTLY as told. I got my boys aunt to do my hair recently as I just wanted a ltitle big off. I do need to find someone I can trust again as I know how bad it is for it just to be left to roam free. Your hair after all is your head suit. x

  6. I'm not sure exactly why but this weblog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end? I'll check back later
on and see if the problem still exists.
